A Go To Checklist for Baseball Injury Prevention

  1. Always request a pre-season physical examination.
  2. Avoid dehydration.
  3. Continue activity and maintain fitness level during school breaks as recommended by many health care professionals.
  4. Avoid overtraining by resting at least one season.
  5. Reduce training time and intensity to avoid over-use injuries, especially upon any signs of pain.
  6. Communicate with your coach and the injury prevention team about prevention techniques.
  7. Incorporate ACL related injury prevention techniques during team warm ups.
  8. Practice jumping and landing techniques to prevent ACL injury.
  9. After any injury, don’t return to play until cleared by a health care professional.
  10. Wear protective gear if recommended.
