At Prehab, our core philosophy is simple: why rehab when you can prehab? Whether you are training for a marathon, competing in local sports leagues, or striving to move without pain, achieving peak athletic performance requires personalized, high-level clinical care.
Founder Dr. Alex Gometz is thrilled to introduce the outstanding clinicians expanding our NYC team. Every member of our clinical staff was personally trained and mentored by Dr. Alex Gometz to ensure seamless execution of Prehab’s signature movement and running gait analysis protocols. At the same time, each clinician joined our practice with a rich sports background, specialized clinical experience, and unique expertise that elevates our collective care.
Here is a closer look at the physical therapists and athletic trainers keeping NYC moving forward.
Brian, DPT | Physical Therapist & Running Specialist
Brian brings a strong athletic foundation to Prehab, built on years of competitive experience in volleyball and squash alongside a personal passion for distance running. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology from Penn State University before completing his Doctor of Physical Therapy at the College of Staten Island.
Prior to joining Prehab, Brian worked extensively in an orthopedic clinic setting where he treated a wide spectrum of competitive athletes and active individuals. His background in exercise physiology and biomechanics enables him to identify root causes of movement inefficiencies. At Prehab, Brian channels his multi-sport athletic experience into helping runners, triathletes, and weekend warriors resolve injuries, optimize performance, and return to doing what they love.
Kyle, ATC | Certified Athletic Trainer & Performance Specialist
Growing up around sports in New Jersey, Kyle developed a deep commitment to athletic performance, injury recovery, and long-term movement development. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from Penn State University and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, establishing a strong clinical foundation as a BOC-certified athletic trainer.
During his time at Nebraska, Kyle served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the university’s baseball team, supporting athletes through back-to-back Big Ten Championship seasons. Collaborating daily with experts in strength and conditioning, sports nutrition, and sports psychology gave him a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to athlete care. At Prehab, Kyle applies this high-level performance methodology to guide active individuals through injury prevention, performance testing, and structured recovery.
Hana, DPT | Physical Therapist & Movement Analyst
Hana’s clinical approach is shaped by a lifelong connection to competitive athletics, including high school softball and collegiate Division III volleyball, a sport she continues to play actively today. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology at SUNY Oneonta and earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from New York Medical College, where her award-winning research focused on how structured physical programs foster strength, balance, and physical resilience.
Before bringing her expertise to Prehab, Hana specialized in evaluating and treating complex orthopedic and post-surgical conditions. She pairs her background in high-level team sports with evidence-based rehabilitation protocols, designing targeted strength and movement strategies that help athletes recover safely, correct movement flaws, and build lasting resilience.
Nick, DPT | Physical Therapist, Running & Golf Performance Specialist
As an active marathoner, golfer, and weightlifter, Nick understands the dedication and recovery precision needed to stay at the top of your game. He earned his B.S. in Biology from St. John’s University and his Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Scranton. Driven by evidence-based care, Nick co-authored a systematic review on blood flow restriction (BFR) therapy that was presented at the 2022 APTA Combined Sections Meeting.
Nick boasts a diverse clinical background spanning outpatient orthopedics, acute care, and home health, having treated post-operative patients, collegiate athletes, marathon runners, and triathletes alike. As a Level 1 and Level 2 Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) certified practitioner, Nick combines golf-specific biomechanics with running gait analysis to help endurance athletes and golfers move efficiently, prevent injury, and stay strong throughout peak training blocks.
